Vermont for Single Payer is a network of concerned citizens – health professionals, employers and employees, insured and uninsured, young and old, people from all walks of life.

 The goal of Vermont for Single Payer is to see the Vermont legislature pass a single payer health care bill, so that all Vermonters would have access to health care in a publicly funded system, no one would go bankrupt due to medical debts, profits would no longer be a part of the system, and health care costs could be brought under control. To that end, we hope our website can be a tool for educating and organizing Vermonters around the issue of single payer."

 As Senator Bernie Sanders has said, "The quickest route toward a national health care program will be when individual states go forward and demonstrate that universal and non-profit health care works, and that it is the cost-effective and moral thing to do.”
