Vermont's Health Care Reform Office releases 2nd health care explainer video

December 11, 2014

Bennington Banner: MONTPELIER >> The Office of Health Care Reform today released the second in a series of videos designed to raise awareness about the current health care financing system in Vermont.

The video shows how for some Vermonters, monthly health care premium costs can eat up over 10 percent of their yearly income. And that's before co-pays, deductibles and other out-of-pocket costs are taken into account.

"Health care is expensive and the way we currently fund it doesn't make a whole lot of sense," said Lawrence Miller, Chief of Health Care Reform. "Over the coming weeks we look forward to having a conversation about some of the adverse consequences of the current funding system and how we can do better."
