As President Trump has now decided he will solve the health care problem by giving every citizen an amount of money to spend on health care as they choose, perhaps we need to remind him there already are bills in Congress to get rid of the insurance companies by forming a single payer, universal health care system, getting rid of all private insurers for everyone, paying for it by a system of graduated taxes based on income and paid for by government directly, that would include everyone.
So many Americans have been working towards this end for years. Let consumers choose their own providers and have it paid for by the federal government.
Congress has the answers as there are bills in both the House and Senate calling for single payer universal health care. If Congress would only listen to their constituents and get rid of the huge government and insurance bureaucracy that has grown up in the United States, now putting us almost at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to a healthy country.
Health care should be a human right.
