BENNINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A mobile dental and vision clinic is rolling into Bennington to provide free healthcare to locals.
Remote Area Medical, a non-profit that travels the country hosting pop-up clinics, is holding a two day clinic this weekend at Mount Anthony Union Middle School in Bennington.
Everything the medical clinic provides is free, and patients don’t need to show any identification or insurance to receive medical help.
Brad Sands with the clinic says he was approached by Bennington residents who thought others might need healthcare help.
“We were invited, we don’t self deploy anywhere, there was a coalition of community members that identified a gap in care in this community, and wanted to bring us out, they invited us and we obliged,” Brad Sands, Remote Area Medical Clinic Coordinator said. “It’s incredible to get to travel around and really help folks, you know some people have been walking around three to five years with tooth pain, maybe they can’t afford the care, maybe they don’t have access to it, and that’s where we come in we’re here to fill that gap and help alleviate some pain and suffering.”
The clinic says they’ll treat as many people as they can Saturday before wrapping up Sunday around midday.
